Over the last two decades, Networked Electronic Media (NEM) witnessed an explosive growth in both the diversity of techniques and its range of applications. This in turn resulted in economic growth and benefits for individuals and the society at large. NEM Technology embraces multimedia signal processing, media transmission and related services and applications. It considers a mix of media forms to be delivered seamlessly over heterogeneous networks which are transparent to the services yet hidden to the user. NEM also represent the convergence of existing and new technologies, including broadband, mobile and new media engineering across different ICT sectors, to create a new and exciting era of advanced personalized services.

The Latin-American Conference on Networked Electronic Media focuses on fostering close links between Latin-American and non Latin-American players from academia and industry. LAC-NEM intends to provide an ideal forum for researchers, practitioners and educators to discuss results and advancements in the field in a high quality, peer reviewed environment.
